How Social Media is Seen Throughout Generations

How Social Media is Seen Throughout Generations

Social media has taken over the lives of this world. Everyday millions of people are hooked to their computers looking through their many social media accounts. Social media these days are almost any kind of website on the internet. Some of the most common social media websites are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, Snapchat, Yik Yak, and Tinder.

Facebook was launched on February 4, 2004, by college students who were connecting themselves when they were not together. The website quickly spread to other universities and then to high school students. Within eleven years Facebook has spread to almost everyone across the world. This includes ages of approximately 6-85. That range has gotten the creators to evolve the website to work in many different ways. At first friends could just share posts and messages with each other. now we can share posts, messages, play games, and interact in whole different way.

The youngest generation of Facebook users are on their account most of the time to play games and be on the apps that are connected to their account. The next generation of teens are using their profile to share photos, statuses, message, and entertain themselves. The young adults of our world connect with work and long distance friends from college. The older generations that have not been involved in the innovation of technology as well as the younger generations, either have their children help with their accounts or they only get on to be just like the youngest ones and only play games.

Facebook can be seen as the agora for the world. Facebook connects people from every country to each other. Facebook is used to discuss many different topics from life events to famous people. The stories that are shared throughout the Facebook world grab the attention of many eyes. That is the main reason for some stories that are posted, to get the attention of many viewers to be seen around the world and spread the news.
